The workshop was subject of a presentation at the 17th Annual CUNY IT Conference in 2018 at John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Adopting the CUNY Accessibility and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Workshop at Your Campus
This presentation will review the content, format, and available resources of the newly released, self-paced Accessibility & UDL Workshop, available for all CUNY faculty, students, and staff on Blackboard. We will demonstrate the steps to enroll in the workshop, showcase the various modules and materials made available on the site, and explain how participants can receive a certificate after successful completion of the workshop. We’ll also discuss with participants potential ways of recruiting faculty and staff for the workshop on their respective campuses. In the second part, we will introduce the facilitated version of the workshop, which our office at CUNY SPS created from the self-paced workshop template, including more interactive features, resources, discussions, and assessments. We are planning to offer this workshop to our faculty in October 2018, and will discuss our experiences and lessons learned as well. We aim for this presentation to be helpful for anyone interested in taking the workshop, as well as Blackboard administrators and staff working with faculty on accessibility and UDL issues at their campuses.
